I love the way that metal can be heated and forged to produce something quite different such as a delicate leaf or scroll with only the use of a hammer and anvil. In this mass produced world I find it refreshing to be able to offer a modern approach of an ancient craft to a discerning public.
I specialise in interior sculpture based on organic shapes found in nature such as in trees and flowers as well as animals, including reptiles, birds and insects, all things decorative for the home including clocks, mirrors, bowls, fire irons, candle stands and other lighting can be forged including small pieces of furniture. I use mild steel predominately with the addition of brass, copper and glass on some pieces.
One of my other interests is knife making where I make the entire knife by hand, from the handles of exotic woods or bone and antler and blades of hardened and tempered high carbon steel or special stainless steel and even sometimes I make my own Damascus steel with it’s hundreds of layers. Finally I make all my own leather sheathes to compliment each knife.
I would be pleased to discuss your ideas for any project you may have in mind and create a unique and decorative piece for your home or for a special hand made gift.
I am also very interested in exhibiting in galleries throughout France or in fact shared or solo exhibitions to promote my work.
