Probably the most unusual ceramic decoration that you have ever seen, Alice Mara decorates ceramic surfaces using a new digital printing process.

A recent Royal College of Art Graduate, Mara approaches ceramic surface design from a different prospective treating the ceramics as a canvas. Photographs are taken of buildings, urban surroundings and people. Then the images are worked on the computer to produce, vibrant, surreal street scenes.

The wares are very durable and the printed imagery is fired on to the ceramic objects at high temperatures ensuring that it becomes part of the glaze and cannot be scratched off. The imagery will not fade or erode over time.

Offering a bespoke service, Mara’s innovative ceramic decoration can be created to reflect any environment interior or exterior in an exciting, personalised way with full consultation throughout the creative process. The range of decorated ceramics that Mara produces does not stop with contemporary tiles. You can find a colourful array of plates, bowls and cups and saucers. Ceramic objects adorned with imagery ranging from the pie and mash shop to Kew Gardens along side hand made bowls decorated with people hanging off the rims.
